Hi Garnet,
Today I got a great question from a guy named Ed - a LOT of people have this same question:
Dear Perry:
Obviously you are an expert in this area and your emails, courses and reputation all confirm that you are leaps and bounds beyond more newbees(I am simple little telemarketer with no net experience, but lots of WILL, trying to get out of the J.O.B. ratrace) and somewhat seasoned netveterans.
The problem that I have is not so much being convinced to buy an ebook. But which one to buy to serve the purpose is the main dilemma.
Perry, please step back a few years when you had no idea about all this stuff. Not even HTML and webdesign.
WHICH ebook(s) would you buy to get your very first PPC campaign up and going. I don't even care if it is simply to promote affiliate products via PPC search engines.
In my frustrating search for an effective course I have come across your fine ebooks, Phil Wiley's, Google Cash and another Google something or another, TNT, Rosalind Gardner's book, your friend's Zero Media book, Mr. Martell's book, Mr. Munroe's How the PayPer?Create Click Engines work, Mr. Willy Crawford's PayPerClick?Create CD set.... JUST TO NAME A FEW !!!!
Perry, I just want to read a couple of books and apply the basics in order to start a simple campaign on Overture and Google. Too many books causes "analysis paralysis" We all eventually learn by trial and error!
At the RISK OF DRIVING BUSINESS AWAY from yourself, which book do you suggests simpletons like me to start with.
Thanks and God Bless
Ed
Here's the answer I gave him:
Dear Ed,
Real quick:
In my opinion there are three "real" books on this subject. The three are: Mine, Andrew Goodman's [ www.page-zero.info ] and Don Crowther's [ http://ppc.www.makeyourwebsitepay.com ].
Pick any one of the three and you're golden. Many others, though, are knock-offs of true original material and simply are not as good.
If you're driving affiliate programs you also should read Googlecash.
Big Caution with the affiliate strategy though:
That market is *extremely* competitive, and you need to look for products in odd little niches that don't have anything to do with "making money on the internet" which is hopelessly crowded. That will improve your chances of hitting paydirt.
Best of Success,
Perry Marshall www.perrymarshall.com/adwords
