Yushchenko celebrates apparent victory in Ukraine presidential election. Opposition leader Yushchenko is leading by 8.2% in Kiev with 99% complete count of the vote. The defeated candidate has still not conceded. Ukrainians voted in 2nd runoff election on Sunday. 12000 foreign observers were on hand for the election. There is a feeling of disbelief, among people in the tent city, our system was "you can vote for whoever you want, but they will know in advance who will win." They are calling this the "Orange Revolution", with a major political change. Yushchenko needs to reach out to the people who voted for the loser. Many people feel he will be a threat to their economic livelihoods.
The economic policies are of great concern to many.
Ukraine is going to try to get integrated into Europe, but it needs huge change. They want to be recognized as a market economy, and this will take a lot to happen.
Viktor Yanukovych is the loser.
