What Is The Purpose of The Resume?
Subjects > Writing > Resumes
Many people do not understand the purpose of a resume. Many people think that a resume is designed to help them get a job. This is a misunderstanding.
- A RESUME IS NOT DESIGNED TO GET YOU A JOB!
- IT IS DESIGNED TO GENERATE INTERVIEWS
- INTERVIEWS WILL GET YOU A JOB
The percentage hit is 1% i.e. you need to have your resume looked at by 100 people to generate 1 interview.
YOUR OBJECTIVE IS TO GENERATE AT LEAST 2 INTERVIEWS PER WEEK. IT TAKES ABOUT 3 MONTHS TO GET TO THIS LEVEL. To achive this, YOU NEED TO DEDICATE ABOUT 2 HOURS EVERYDAY TO HUSTLE FOR A JOB. EVERYDAY!
2 HOURS
Do not hesitate to have several versions of your resume to address multiple audiences.
Don't be too talkative on the phone, get to the point and if it doesn't suit you don't waste your time.
Cut short any development that may lead you to nowhere. Know how to detect such situations. Be courteous and generous of your feelings and attention but dont over do it.
