Malaysia is a rare case where these policies have ended. Now the admission will be by computer, for the people with the highest academic achievements without regard to race.

In Calcutta they have lots of quotas and preferences, but in Silicon Valley someone can own their own business.

In Nigeria, there is a tyrany of skills. It is written of like expectation of skills is some kind of abuse.

Many people here pretend that higher requirements are some kind of protectionism. This is a bad message to send to the youth.

The progress that Black Americans has made is a result of affirmative action. That is one of the biggest lies on a

• In 1940, 87% of blacks living in poverty
• In 1960, 47% of blacks living in poverty. This was without any special civil rights help.
• In 1970, only 30% of blacks living in poverty.
• Federal affirmative action began in the early 1970's. At this point 29% of blacks live in poverty. All of these affirmative action programs have resulted in just a 1% drop in black poverty rates.

Several bad consequences of affirmative action:

• Whites ask why can't blacks lift themselves out of proverty. Actually they did. But hucksters will pretend that it is only affirmative action that helps.

Often repeated claim is that sufficient numbers of blacks are needed in classes to create a "critical mass".

• It is said without the slightest attempt to test it. It is just a theory.
• If black students are a tiny minority, they seem to do better than when there is a large concentration.

Sometimes hard working blacks are accused of "acting white". This is prevalent in Washington D.C.

Proposition 42 said you had to have certain grade point and SAT scores (700 combined), to get an athletic scholarship. Some of the coaches walked out and called this racist.

Senate has passed the anti-gouging law, inspired by Hurricane Isabel.
