My most active and intelligent cat, Monkey, is welcoming the birds back to Northern California. She enjoys when they perch on the antenna in the back yard. She'll make the chattering sound that cats make when they are excited by something they can't catch like a bird out the window, or a fly on the ceiling. As she watches very intently, her mouth moves very fast and she makes a sound like "ack-ack-ack-ack-ack", kind of like a marmoset's sound, but much quieter.
To help Monkey relieve her frustration, we play catch with a string bean.
Lots of flowers such as the ice plant are in bloom on the cliffs along the ocean here. We're past our rainy season, and can count on fairly dry weather until August fogs, and October rain.

P.S. Marmosets can be practically deafening, I've seen them in pet shops in Bulgaria and they are one of the most hyper animals imagineable. They are always moving so fast, it is almost impossible to take photos of a marmoset.
