July 9th 1997 - Attempting to spring him from the Arizona state prison at Florence, Rebecca Thornton meets her husband Floyd at the perimeter fence with a rifle. There the escape plan goes haywire, and Rebecca shoots her death-row husband after he instructs her: "Shoot me! I'm sorry things went wrong. Shoot me! Shoot me!" Then they are both gunned down by the guards.
Inmate kills fellow prisoner, chews on brain
July 9th 2004 - An inmate of Saint-Maur central prison killed and began to eat a fellow prisoner. The perpetrator, serving a 30-year sentence in solitary confinement for murder and cannibalism, repeated his crime during dinnertime. The murderer attacked two trustees with an ashtray when they brought the meal to his cell. The guards left for backup and on their return they discovered one trustee dead and the other wounded.
