Conan O'Brian had a show last night in Quebec, late night NBC show, and he really put down the Quebec area about queers, rotten food, and stupid language. They got upset and called it hate mongering, racist, and vile. Phil Henry thought it sounded funny.
Alexa McDonah?Create described the program as racist filth, and demanded the return of a million dollar subsidy.
Americans have a problem with Quebec because it is a strange concept. This is what happens when you allow a culture to break off from the mainstream, this is the kind of problem that bilingualism helps create. The country should have one official language. Like in America, we should have English as the one official language. It's very basic in that it maintains cohesiveness and better communication between people in the community.
History teaches us that successful societies need to be promoted by speaking a common language.
Phil didn't find France to be very interesting. He thinks it is ridiculous that the Quebec people think they are somehow better because of their french heritage. Phil thinks that France is the closest to Nazi Germany, and the biggest disgrace is that they forget that it exists. Phil calls Quebec a client state of France. He says the rest of Canada should just let them go. Boston, New Orleans, and Oregon are good enough for Phil. Americans are finally mustering up the guts to say that we never have liked Quebec. It's a hypocracy of pretending to have two societies.
