As a part of the ongoing investigation of spas and massage parlors in Montgomery County, detectives from the Vice and Intelligence Section of the Special Investigations Division have arrested two women and charged them with prostitution and massaging without a license.
On March 25, 2003, at 5:00 p.m., detectives were conducting a surveillance of the Tokyo Spa, located at 109 University Blvd. W, in the Four Corners community of Silver Spring. A man was observed exiting the spa and was subsequently interviewed. As a result of the interview, detectives entered the establishment and determined acts of prostitution and massaging without a license had occurred. The employees were placed under arrest.
Helen Kim, age 43, of the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road, in Laurel, was charged with Prostitution, Massaging Without a License, and Operation of an Unlicensed Massage Parlor. In S. Park, age 48, of the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road, in Laurel, was charged with Massaging Without a License. Both were released after posting bond.
