The mainstream media didn't like Bush's answers to last night's speech.
National review online: Two images stand out from the Bush news conference: He was resolute and he was real. The President stayed remarkably on message. He reiterated that the United States would not waiver in it's resolve.
"We've seen that any concession or waiver on our part, that this will only embolden them. So we will not seek to appease them." - President George Bush
John Kerry says that we should send this whole thing to the United Nations.
Kofi Anon came out and said that Iraq is too dangerous a place, and we will not be going there. How much value does the United Nations have it won't go to places where it is dangerous?
"What we should be doing is a full partnership with the U.N. A willingness to have the U.N take over the authority for the reconstruction of the government and reconstruction of the country" - John Kerry.
And yet the U.N. is afraid to go there, how much use can they be?
Caller: Bush doesn't give speeches well. Reagan was very careful, and had his handlers help out, and didn't put up with questions prefaced with long lists of criticisms.
Lars doesn't mind that the President is not the most polished speaker. He's known people who are not the greatest speakers, but you can trust what they say. Then there are snake oil salesmen who speak so eloquently, but should you trust them?
Lars Larsen is proud of President Bush for being willing to face the questions of a critical media.
