Keyword Ranking refers to the ranking that a webpage receives for it's main keywords . When a webmaster is writing a site, they are often focusing on certain target keywords . However because of various factors such as keyword density, overall site theme, or incoming links, the site may not rank very well for some, or even most, of the target keywords. A webmaster will check their keyword ranking after changes to the website to try and determine if the changes have helped or hurt the position of the website for these keywords.
