I have a guy that is seeking private funding for a radio station
acquisition. There are 3 FM Stations all within 50 miles of each
other so we would have the whole coverage area of over 140 miles. A
5KW AM stations that will have almost as much coverage. The radio
stations thenselves is not what hold value but the radio station
license is what make up the total value.
The stations are a 100KW, 50KW, and 20KW FM stations with a 5KW AM station.
Gross sales are just 700K a year on all four and he is running about 670K of expenses on them a year. We can go in and in 24 months pump the sales up to 2.4 million a year and I can restructure the staff mess he has and get the expenses down to approximately 400K a year. Then in two years we can sell the stations for at least 6 million.
We can pick all four of them up for around $3 to $3.2 Million total.
All we have to do to get the big stations I just described is give a Letter of Intent and a 10K Deposit, then once the sales agreement is signed we have to put down 3% into escrow until the license clears and all the legal paperwork is done and then pay them the rest and that will take about 13 weeks.
They need to move on these fast and if we add them onto our other stations we would have 9 stations worth over 12 million by the time we are through, and we have only had to put in 5.6 Million to do it. And we can take these stations sell them and either walk away with some nice change in our pockets after a 2 to 3 years or we can use the excess capital to buy more stations.
