3M "Post-It" notes were invented & marketed as an unofficial project.
The inventor of Post-It Notes is Art Fry. Art Fry started working at 3M corporation in 1953 and devoted the majority of his career to developing real solutions to customer problems and helping build businesses around them. Now semi-retired, Fry is still involved with technology, networking and mentoring. He's become a spokesman, both inside and outside 3M, on innovation and the company's unique culture.

Post It notes now come in 8 standard formats, and 13 standard paper colours, with 50 to 100 sheets per pad.
