Question From Ohio About Garage Floor Coating: We are using our garage to entertain, and I want a coating. We use it as a family room and a garage. What about that Nature Stone, it seems really expensive...
Gary's Answer: I am not a huge fan of any coating on a garage floor. Of all the coatings, a true two part epoxy such as Rustoleum is the best. Rather than using a coating, you might use a concrete stain. They are being used in businesses, which builds the color into the concrete. Nature Stone is a good choice if you can afford it, it is often used. You might do the coating now, and the Nature Stone later in four or five years. It's also too cold in the winter to do the coating. You want to make sure that the epoxy, and that the air temperature is above 50, and there is very good ventillation. You also want to make sure the garage is very clean. The Rustoleum package includes a cleaner. You can use a pressure washer in conjunction with the cleaner that comes with the Rustoleum.
