Ebay Fraud - Anatomy Of A Fraudulent Auction Sale - Part 2This is part two of my article Example Of Ebay Fraud .
In The Last Episode: After finding a laptop that I wanted, I saw that the item said I needed to contact the seller for the terms of the sale. I contacted the seller, and the seller sent me a couple of responses about being in Romania, needing to use Western Union Wire Transfer, and that we'd use "eBay International Trading" to keep us safe. I went to report the seller to ebay, and discovered that the item had already been closed. I still wanted to share my experience with ebay, and I found that their system makes it difficult to share a report about a closed item.
Of course after finally finding an alternate means of sending the report to eBay, the first thing to do is write a wiki article about the experience of Ebay Fraud . What do I do next?
Of course, I work on material for my next wiki article about avoiding this kind of seller fraud on eBay. I go ahead and send a followup to the seller and see if he will go futher in trying to get me to send payment for the item:
I hope to get this laptop very quickly. You have it ready for shipment, right? Are you going to send me the invoice so that I can send payment today? - G.
I can hardly wait to see the response!
