Placing pebbles on the raft, We weep our tears to the evening draft, That whispers through the mourning hollows of trees that mark the banks and our sorrows.
Near the edge of these lakes, cower, we here, At dusks meek contemplation of fear, The winter chill is course and sharp to cut diamond from oblivions heart.
The murky edge of grey water treads, The emotions and chemicals that play our heads; To distil discomfort, fear and treat our hearts to a quadruple beat.
The whispers return and speak it thus, We are your tears, you have forever trust, trust us, once more, and comfort we promise, drown the raft and take them and thou from us.
To where? we responded without hesitation The raft, you daft living abomination.
And so we sank, as each pebble hit the mast, and ricocheted to the planks, adding weight, to drown the past.
