Here is a cool diagram showing the relation of the various letters in the morse code:

The proper way to learn the morse code is to learn it as music rhythms. Few people actually do this the first time they learn the code, so they end up learning, and then relearning it another way when they reach a plateau with whatever their first learning method was.... Memorizing a table of dots and dashes, for example, will cause you to plateau somewhere around 6 WPM (words per minute), since it's just not possible to quickly convert the sound of the code to dots and dashes, and then think in your head, "uh, dih dah, let's see, that's an A".
