Description
This utility will install the originally shipped version of the system BIOS for the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.
Applicable Models and Operating Systems
This utility is only for use with Sony® VAIO® computer systems sold in the United States, Canada or Latin America.
Models: PCG-TR3AP1, PCG-TR3AP2, PCG-TR3A, PCG-TR3AP3
Operating Systems: Microsoft® Windows® XP

Important Notes
- WARNING!!: Before installing this update, be sure the computer is either running from AC power or using a fully charged battery pack. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
- Before installing this BIOS update, ensure that all peripheral devices are disconnected.
- During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
If either a "Severe" error or "Software Status" message box appears, please check the list of Known Issues .
Download and Installation Instructions
- Download the PH-A11G10802AZ04US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PH-A11G10802AZ04US.EXE file to begin the installation.
- At the "Phoenix® BIOS Update for Microsoft® Windows® XP Setup" box, click Next.
- At the "License Agreement" dialog box, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree". Please wait while the update *extracts the necessary files for the update.
- At the "Phoenix WinPhlash for VAIO" box, click Browse.
- At the "Specify the New BIOS File" box, double click the "R0111g1.WPH" file.
- Confirm that the text box below "Specify new BIOS file:" displays "R0111g1.WPH", then click FlashBIOS?Create.
- At the "Phoenix WinPhlash for VAIO" box, click OK. Please wait while the utility updates the BIOS.
- At the "System BIOS was successfully updated" screen, click Shutdown.
- After the system shuts down, wait for a few seconds, and then turn on the computer.
- After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS update is completed.
