Barisan Nasional is the currently ruling politcal party in Malaysia. Their moto is Excellence, Glory, Distinction.

It's objectives include:

• Fostering a united and harmonious Malaysian nation
• Striving for material and spiritual development and maintaining Islam as the religion of the Federation; but other religion may be practised in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation; and to uphold and practise the principles of the Rukun Negara.
• Striving for the achievement of a fair and just society.
• Promotion of closer relationships between the member parties

It is a coalition of member parties including:

• United Malays National Organization (UMNO)
• Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA)
• Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC)
• Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Malaysian People's Movement)
• People's Progressive Party
• Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu
• Sarawak United People's Party
• Sabah Progressive Party(SAPP)
• Parti Bersatu Sabah
• Liberal Democratic Party
• Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah
• United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation
• Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party

Some say that the popular paper Utusan Malaysia is just a propaganda tool for this Malaysian political party.
