I am amazed at the credence given to testing methods that, at their foundation, depend on a steady state through many millenia, and through special events of every description.
The carbon dating given, if the determination was correctly made, and it is not due to contamination, could still be wrong. The whole basis of radio isotope dating is a constant decay rate, and consistent ratios, of the carbon isotopes, over time. Theoretically, once the animal or plant dies, it's carbon is fixed, and there is no more exchange with the environment to keep the ratio constant. So the ratios start to decay.
If the resurrection was a real event, and part of that process imprinted an image into the shroud, how can we be sure that such an event, which we have never been able to observe or study, how do we know that it didn't somehow alter the ratios of the carbon isotopes? This would have been an event almost entirely unique in the history of the world.
If the ratios were somehow altered, then I dont think we can expect that the dating is correct.
