Art wants to put up a 200 meter sloper off his tower. And setup a computer listening station, if only he could find the software for it. He needs software that will work with the Pro2. Art has the computer, and everything else needed, except for the software. The radio station is 13 miles from Art's house. South of Salt Lake City.
The stuff they use at Jim and Leah's is really good, but the software is $1600.. Art wants a java onscreen display, and let anyone go to the net to hear their signal, and see it in dbM. Would be nice to be able to control the radio.
Art thought about putting a camera on the radio so you can read the S-Meter. But it all should be able to be done in software with the Pro2. Jim and Leah's software is protected by a hardware dongle.
Art has hardware dongles from the company who licenses the automation software for the radio station. At the beginning of the manual it says it must be put on the parallel port. In the manual they claim it will be $1000 to replace it. But they were nice enough to send Art a couple of extra just for asking.
Art says that The software that Jim and Leah's use is really nice, and the software is from Germany. They don't care about ham radio anymore. They gave that up. Now hams will pay the same price as industrial clients.
On frequency WB6TDK... WA6DHC...
