- Helplessness in the face of challenge
- 2. The lessons they learned - The apostles learn the nature of the divine kingdom, the power of prayer, the doctrine of His death and resurrection, the virtue of self sacrifice, humility and kindred virtues amongst others
- 3. The enduement they experienced
- Theirs was a promised empowerment
- 1. "O Lord send Thy Spirit!"
- 2. We must never divorce the promised power from the Promiser Himself
- Theirs was a pentecost experience - the day selected for the fulfillment of the divine experience
- 4. The magnificence of their Ministry
- Theirs was a perennial evidence
- Theirs was a positive evangel - "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" I Cor 15:3.4
- Theirs was a prayerful exercise - do our prayers strike terror in the caverns of hell?
- Theirs was a purifying expectancy - "Upheld by hope" in the darkest days
- Theirs is a permanent entity - "Because I live, ye shall live also" John 14:19
