Indonesia Aceh (pronounced "ah-chay") death toll in Aceh provinced predicted to be 5,000 - 10,000

• More than 800 bodies litering the ground in one neighborhood two days after.
• All infrastructure wiped out in that city
  
• The chief of police said his facilities, his choppers, his personel, wiped out. 300 policemen in a dormitory were killed instantly when the tsunami went through.

Two days afterward, it is obvious that there is an urgent need for relief, but the Indonesian government hasn't decided to let in international aid workers. This particular area is a very sensitive area for Indonesia, lots of rebels in an insurgency in this area. The government is still talking to international aid agencies.

15,000 troops are helping with the search for survivors.

The city of Medan is the headquarters for relief efforts in Aceh. The vice president an hour ago came back from Bandar Aceh, and says the death toll just in that one city could be 5000 - 10,000. The west coast has been fully cut off from communications. This area was closest to the epicenter of the earthquake and this tsunami.
